CHICAGO - Indiana University Northwest earned a clean sweep of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week awards, with De'Mour Watson claiming the women's honor and Ladaion Barnes securing the men's recognition for the reporting period ending Nov. 23.

Junior guard De'Mour Watson (Chicago, Ill.) continued her dominant two-way play, averaging 15.0 rebounds per game, including 12.5 defensive boards, across two contests. Watson added two steals, two blocks, and contributed efficiently on the offensive end, posting 24 points, nine defensive rebounds and four assists in one outing, followed by 16 points and 11 rebounds (nine defensive) in the other.

Her presence on the defensive glass and ability to disrupt possessions helped anchor the RedHawks' defensive schemes throughout the week.

On the men's side, senior guard Ladaion Barnes (Hammond, Ind.) earned his first CCAC weekly award by averaging 8.0 defensive rebounds, 1.5 blocks, and 1.0 steals over two games. He paired that with 22.0 points and 4.0 assists per contest.

Barnes opened the week with 27 points, seven rebounds, four assists and one block in an 87-78 battle with Indiana University South Bend. He followed with a standout defensive showing in a 68-65 win over St. Ambrose, recording 17 points, nine defensive rebounds, two steals and two blocks.

His efficiency, physicality and defensive consistency were crucial to IU Northwest's ability to control tempo and limit second-chance opportunities.
