CROWN POINT, Ind. – Francisco Torres netted his seventh goal of season Saturday, but Roosevelt downed the Indiana University Northwest men's soccer team Saturday 6-1 in the season finale at the Crown Point SportsPlex.
 
The RedHawks and Lakers were knotted at zero through the game's first 33 minutes of action until the scoreless draw was broken in the 34^th minute by RU. The Lakers scored another first period tally in the 37^th minute and that is where the match would remain at halftime.
 
After RU scored two more goals in the second half, Torres took a pass from Vitaliy Prots just outside the box and fired a shot to the upper right 90 put IUN on the board.
 
Defensively for the RedHawks in the second half, Jared Hecimovich made nine stops, while Tyler Davis near the end of the match fired a look, but his shot went high.
 
That completes the 2023 season for the IUN men's soccer team, and they will be back in action in August 2024.
