GARY, Ind. – As the clock was winding down in the second half
Kelly Landry nailed her third goal of the season for the Indiana University Northwest women's soccer team, but Governors State took the 2-1 victory Wednesday night in conference play.
The first half was a scoreless draw, but the RedHawks had eight shots with four of those landing on target.
Brynn Nylin had two of the shots stopped by the Jaguars keeper, while
Elise Mundo-Sweet and Landry had the others.

Isabel Escalera, meanwhile, didn't face a shot as the defense kept GSU from the attacking third.
Ten minutes into second half play, the Jaguars broke the draw, but the RedHawks kept attacking as they had six shots following the goal.
Abigail Heintz and
Kelly Shaffer each had shots kept from the crossing line.
In the 84
th minute, GSU scored for the second time, but IUN was able to get two more shots off before the end of the game. Heintz had another opportunity, but her shot was wide and then Landry scored just before the clock hit zero.
The final contest of the season is Saturday at 12 p.m. with a senior day celebration to begin prior to kick-off against Roosevelt.
