Joliet, Ill. - IU Northwest women's soccer squared off with the host Saint Francis Saint in Joliet and were held scoreless as they dropped their third straight CCAC match 3-0. IU Northwest was unable to generate much offense for the second straight match and were outshot by the Saints 32-11.
Kelly Shaffer led IUN with 8 shots on goal. The Saints would score first at the 36' to take a 1-0 lead. That score would hold up until the final minutes two when two late Saints goals would complete the scoring.
Isabelle Escalera registered 11 saves for IU Northwest. The RedHawks second half adjustments helped their attack as they registered 11 shots, however none were able to find the the back of the net.
Coach's Perspective
"We have a very young team and need to continue to adjust to the level of competition of more established programs in the CCAC. We're making progress and are close to breaking through. We just need to continue to trust our process and better results will eventually be there," said IUN Head Coach
