Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

REDHAWKS FALL TO SAINTS ON THE ROAD

Joliet, Ill. – IU Northwest Men's Soccer traveled to Joliet on Saturday to face Saint Francis in a CCAC matchup and were unable to get their offense started falling to the Saints 3-0.

The Saints were on the attack early as they earned several free kicks in the first half to put the pressure on the RedHawk defense. The saint would break through at the 22' and 29' to take a 2-0 lead to the half. The Saints outshoot the RedHawks 15-2 in the first half.

The second half would remain scoreless until the 85' when the Saints found the back of the net for the third and final goal of the afternoon to earn the 3-0 shutout. The Saints would outshoot the RedHawks 35-6. Vitality Prots led IUN with 3 shots on goal. RedHawks goalkeeper Jared Hecimovich would notch 10 saves on the afternoon.

Coach's Perspective
"We are not winning and keeping enough possession in the midfield and it's forcing us into. More conservative and defensive approach which limits our offensive opportunities," said IUN Head Coach Ryan Shelton.

Next Up
The RedHawks (3-4/0-3) will continue the CCAC slate of matches when they host region rival Calumet St. Joseph to the Sportsplex this Wednesday. The kickoff time has been changed to an 8 p.m. start time.
