Kelly Shaffer stand up to defeat the Huntington Foresters 1-0 in a tightly contested match. Shaffer scored and just the seventh minute of the match when she received a beautiful pass from
Kayla Ziel and made an extra move on the keeper to put the ball in the back of the net.

Isabel Escalera was outstanding again in net as she piled up 10 saves on the afternoon to record a clean sheet and shutout for the RedHawks. The RedHawks defense and goalkeeping has been outstanding in the early going surrendering just one goal through their first two matches of the season.
The Foresters kept the pressure on the RedHawks in the second half leading to a 19 to 13 shot advantage in the match, however none of their 19 strikes were able to get past Escalera and the RedHawks defense as IU Northwest preserved the lead to gain their first win of the 2022 season. The victory also marked the first carer win for first-year IU Northwest Head Coach
