Gary, IN - The IU Northwest Men's Basketball team hosted the Purdue Northwest Pride in Exhibition action on Friday afternoon at the Savannah Center. The Pride are an NCAA Division II team who play in the GLIAC conference.

Javier Heridia's RedHawks were unable to really get started offensively and the Pride raced out to a 35-9 lead with 10 minutes remaining in to the first half. The RedHawks outscored the Pride 26-19 in last ten minutes of the first half. The Pride outscored the RedHawks 17-16 in the first ten minutes of play before the Pride went on a 18-6 run to put the game out of reach. Â The Pride won the game 95-71.Â
The RedHawks were led by
Jaivion Reid with 17 points on 4-of-6 shooting and went 7-of-9 from the charity stripe.
De'Avion Washington scored 15 points, 6 rebounds, and had 3 steals for the RedHawks.
Malik Miller rounded out the RedHawks in double figures with 13 points and 5 assists.
NEXT UP: The RedHawks start 2023 with CCAC games at Saint Xavier (Jan. 4, 7:30 PM) and Judson (Jan. 7, 3 PM) before returning home against Roosevelt on January 11 at 7:30 PM.
