Gary, Ind. - IU Northwest erased a slim one point deficit at the break and used a well played final second half to earn a 75-66 win over visiting Trinity International. The RedHawks trailed 31-30 at the half, however used four double figure scoring performances led by a double double by All-American
Jared Johnson's 17 points and 10 rebounds to secure their second straight conference win and improve to 5-2 in the CCAC. Johnson led the RedHawks with 17 points and 10 rebounds while adding 2 assists and a steal.
IU Northwest shot 42% from the floor and just 16% (3-18) from long distance and used a longer rotation and defensive intensity to limit the Trojans to 36% shooting and just 15% (4-26) from three. Three other RedHawks notched double figure performances as
Isaac Stanback recorded a double double of his own with 15 points and 10 rebounds while
Ryan LaFollette added a season high 15 points.
Malik Miller added 11 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 steals in an all-around solid effort.
IU Northwest as clutch at the line especially in the fourth quarter making 15-17 form the line including several down the stretch to secure the RedHawks sixth win of the season. With the win the RedHawks improved to 6-7 overall and 5-2 in CCAC Conference play.
