Box Score GARY, Ind. -- The Indiana University Northwest men's basketball team was able to hang on and defeat Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference opponent St. Ambrose, 67-62, Wednesday. Head Coach Javier Heridia also recorded his 100th win as Head Coach of IU Northwest Men's Basketball.

GAME RECAP
Tromon Weston started the game with a flush then Jerron Tatum hit a three-pointer to make it 5-0 early. Moments later, IU Northwest extended the lead to 11-6 after Jared Johnson hit back-to-back baskets.
SAU bounced back and tied the contest at 19-all with under 10 minutes to play in the half. Brian Hernandez and back-to-back buckets by VaShawn Sims made it 26-19 with 6:49 left in the first half.
Johnson made three straight buckets for IU Northwest to give the RedHawks a 34-26 lead. Jason Peace closed out the first half with a three-pointer as time was expiring to give IU Northwest a 37-26 advantage at the break.
Damond Crosby hit back-to-back three pointers early in the second half to go up 43-30. Sims and Weston had back-to-back baskets to make it 47-31 with 16:51 left in the game.
SAU responded with seven straight points to make it 47-38 with 14:16 remaining. Hernandez made a stop to their run after making a three-pointer to extend the lead out to 50-38.
The Fighting Bees fought back and made it 54-48 IU Northwest with 10 minutes left. Marshaud Watkins was able to respond with two straight buckets to make it a double-digit lead again at 58-48.
SAU did not give up as the Fighting Bees responded with 11 unanswered to go up 59-58 with five minutes left. Johnson answered right back with a three-pointer to regain the 61-59 lead.
A few minutes later, Johnson made a layup to make it 64-61 with under three minutes to play. Both teams were able to stop each other from making baskets.
Sims recorded a huge basket which turned into a three-point play with seven seconds to go, giving IU Northwest an 67-62 advantage. The RedHawks ended up winning the game 67-62.
