Box Score CROWN POINT, Ind. -- Sophomore Will Carroll III scored his first goal of the season in the 50th minute but it was not enough as Calumet College responded with two goals to grab a 2-1 victory at the Crown Point Sportsplex Tuesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams were held scoreless in the first half but both teams had chances to score in the first 45 minutes.
- Carroll tried to put the RedHawks on the scoreboard with a shot in the 5th minute but it went high.
- Moments later, Francisco Torres was on the attack looking to give the RedHawks the early lead but his shot in the 11th minute was saved.
- Oscar Fernandez had a chance in the 21st minute to make it 1-0 but his shot went wide.
- Towards the end of the half, Carroll tried again after being on the attack but the goalkeeper was right there with the save.
- Vitaliy Prots got the ensuing possession and also had a shot but it went wide.
- CCSJ was on the attack late in the first half but Raul Fierro made a huge save to keep it tied going into halftime.
- The second half was a different story and there was some offense.
- Sergio Reyes would have four shots on goal attempts in the first seven minutes but Fierro was there for the save.
- IU Northwest finally broke through in the 50th minute as Carroll found the back of the net from the 18.
- CCSJ recorded five more shots on goal but Fierro was there for the saves.
- CCSJ finally broke through and tied it in the 76th minute after a goal by Joe Kirkham.
- The Crimson Wave took the lead after a IUN miscue then Reyes connected on a free kick in the 81st minute.
- The RedHawks looked for the equalizer but were unable to find the back of the net as the Wave won the match 2-1.
