Men's Soccer Suffers Setback Against Judson Wednesday

CROWN POINT, Ind. -- The Indiana University Northwest men's soccer team was unable to come up with enough offense as the RedHawks fell to Judson, 5-0, at the Crown Point Sportsplex, Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • IU Northwest looked to get on the scoreboard first after both teams were scoreless but Francisco Torres got a shot off but it went wide. 
  • Judson had the shot advantage early on and outshooting the RedHawks.
  • Judson was finally able to break through to score a goal and went ahead 1-0 after Gabriel Trevisan found Luis Germano for the back of the net in the 32nd minute.
  • With four minutes left in the half, Oscar Fernandez tried to tie the contest at 1-all but Judson's goalkeeper was right there with the save.
  • The Eagles were able to double their lead in the 44th minute in the closest moments of the first half after Trevisan was able to find Gabriel Uno this time to put Judson up 2-0. 
  • Torres tried to cut the deficit in half in the 48th minute but that shot went wide as well.
  • Judson went up 3-0 in the 57th minute after Joshua Thompson found Luis Germano for a goal.
  • Moises Tirado tried to get the RedHawks on the scoreboard in the 65th minute but Alban Hoti was right there with the save. 
  • Trevisan continued his big day as he recorded his third assist of the game in the 78th minute to make it 4-0 Judson.
  • Will Carroll was trying to put the RedHawks on the board but his shot went wide.
  • A minute later, Tirado was able to get another shot attempt off but the goalie was right there again with the save.
  • Judson went up 5-0 for their final goal of the night in the 87th minute by Mateo Vadora.
  • Raul Fierro was able to record six saves in goal for the RedHawks.

  • IU Northwest returns to action Saturday, March 13 as the RedHawks travel to Davenport, Iowa to take on the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees starting at 7 p.m. CT.
