Box Score CROWN POINT, Ind. -- The Indiana University Northwest women's soccer team was defeated by Saint Xavier at the Crown Point Sportsplex, 4-0, Wednesday.

HALF BREAKDOWN
FIRST HALF: Saint Xavier 0, IU Northwest 0
- Saint Xavier got the first few shots of the game off.
- Kelly Shaffer tried to make it 1-0 but her shot attempt was blocked in the 10th minute,
- Seconds later, Mackenzie Rainwater tried to knock it through the net but it went high.
- Brynn Nylin had an attacking chance after SXU went offside but the goalkeeper saved it.
- Rainwater had another shot attempt in the 31st minute but it was blocked.
- Brisa Sanford tried to start the scoring on the scoreboard but her shot went high in the 39th minute.
- SXU had two huge scoring opportunities at the end of the first half but Mackenzie Rooke was right there with the saves both times.
- Katherin Vargas tried to make it 1-0 in the final seconds of the half but her shot went wide.
- Rooke recorded six saves in the first half that kept the game scoreless 0-0.
SECOND HALF: Saint Xavier 4, IU Northwest 0
- Vargas tried again in the 53rd minute but the goalkeeper saved it.
- A minute later, Rainwater tried again off the rebound but it was saved as well.
- SXU was able to find the back of the net in the 58th minute as Haley Samolis made it 1-0.
- The Cougars doubled their lead after Esmeralda Diaz scored a goal in the 62nd minute.
- Shaffer looked to make it a one-goal match in the 65th minute but her shot was saved.
- SXU made it 3-0 in the 70th minute after Frances Montoya received the ball from Jasmine Itrube in the corner.
- Jenna Dye recorded a shot attempt after the kickoff but it was also saved.
- The Cougars made it 4-0 in the 86th minute and that was it for the scoring with SXU winning 4-0.
- Rooke recorded three more saves in the second half then Hayley Maze picked up a pair of stops as well.
