Moises Tirado Scores Goal; Men's Soccer Loses Match Against Roosevelt Wednesday

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. -- The Indiana University Northwest men's soccer team was unable to come away with the victory despite the goal by sophomore Moises Tirado as the RedHawks lost to host Roosevelt Wednesday.

HALF BREAKDOWN
FIRST HALF: Roosevelt 4, IU Northwest 1

  • Roosevelt quickly made it 1-0 in the third minute of the match after Anthony Aldape knocked it through.
  • Sebastian Padilla doubled the lead in the seventh minute to make it 2-0.
  • The Lakers wasted no time and made it 3-0 in the eighth minute after Sebastian Rodriguez found the back of the net.
  • Aldape was able to record his second goal of the half this time a header in the 12th minute which made it 4-0.
  • Vitaliy Prots tried to get the RedHawks on the scoreboard in the 26th minute but his shot was saved,
  • Moises Tirado scored his first goal of the season in the 29th minute to make it 4-1 Roosevelt.
  • Trevor Witte looked to cut the deficit in half in the 33rd minute but his shot went high.
  • Fernando Ramos recorded six saves in the opening 45 minutes.

SECOND HALF: Roosevelt 3, IU Northwest 0

  • Roosevelt made it 5-1 in the 77th minute from the goal by Andy Lomeli.
  • Lukas Palma expanded the lead to 6-1 during the 80th after striking through a goal.
  • Gerardo Nicolas scored the last goal of the contest in the 87th minute which made it 7-1.
  • Ramos picked up seven more saves in the second half.

FINAL SCORE: Roosevelt 7, IU Northwest 1

  • IU Northwest will be back in action Saturday, October 30 as the RedHawks host their regular-season finale against Trinity Christian College starting at 2 p.m. CT.
