Box Score CROWN POINT, Ind. -- The Indiana University Northwest used an all-around team effort with three goals by as many players and a shutout by Mackenzie Rooke as the RedHawks won their first-ever Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference match against IU South Bend, 3-0, at the Crown Point Sportsplex, Saturday.

HALF BREAKDOWN
FIRST HALF: IU Northwest 2, IU South Bend 0
- Janice Oprisko went on the attack early for the RedHawks but her shots in the third and fifth minute were off target.
- Katherin Vargas looked to break the scoreless tie seconds later but her shot went wide.
- Nicole Melton was able to record two shots in the 15th and 16th minute but one went wide and the other one was saved.
- Oprisko had another attacking chance in the 20th minute but it was saved.
- Vargas tried again in the 23rd minute but her shot was also saved.
- In the 36th minute, the RedHawks broke through as Kelly Shaffer found Cicily Porter for the goal to make it 1-0.
- The RedHawks wasted no time as two minutes later, Vargas finally found the back of the net after Brynn Nylin passed it into her for the score.
- Carissa Urra looked to add to the lead but her shots went off target.
- Marisa Paredes tried to make it 3-0 but her shot went high in the 42nd minute.
SECOND HALF: IU Northwest 1, IU South Bend 0
- Porter tried to record her second goal of the contest in the opening minutes of the second half but it went off target.
- Melton looked to make it 3-0 in the 51st minute but her shot went wide.
- Oprisko and Shaffer had shots on goal in the 56th and 59th minute but the goalkeeper saved it.
- Shaffer recorded two more shots but both went off target.
- Nylin looked to get on the board after assisting on the last goal but her shot in the 61st minute went wide.
- In the 65th minute, Nylin found Oprisko, who broke through and found the back of the net to make it 3-0.
- The RedHawks looked to add on as Brisa Sanford had a shot attempt in the 71st minute but it was saved.
- Urra tried to make it 4-0 in the 76th minute but the goalkeeper was able to save it.
- Shaffer, who had an assist earlier looked to get on the scoring side but both goals were saved in the 82nd and 86th minute.
- Jenna Dye looked to get on the scoresheet in the 84th minute but her shot attempt was saved.
