HALF BREAKDOWN
FIRST HALF: Holy Cross 2, IU Northwest 0
- Brynn Nylin tried to score the first goal of the match but Holy Cross picked up a defensive save.
- Holy Cross struck first in the 17th minute as Lauren Cernak made it 1-0.
- Brooke Durkin looked to connect and tie the match at 1-all in the 25th minute but her shot was saved.
- The Saints doubled their lead in the 32nd minute as Nicole Cook scored a goal.
- Hayley Maze recorded eight saves in the first 45 minutes.
SECOND HALF: Holy Cross 4, IU Northwest 0
- Cook made it 3-0 HCC in the 49th minute.
- Holy Cross wasted no time feeding Cook again this time in the 54th minute to make 4-0, giving her a hat trick.
- One minute later, the Saints made it 5-0 after Olivia Shaw connected.
- Durkin was able to get attack chances in the 62nd and 67th minutes but the goalkeeper saved it.
- Jenna Dye looked to end the drought in the 69th minute but Holy Cross saved it.
- Nicole Melton recorded a shot attempt in the 70th minute and that was saved.
- Shaw made it 6-0 after scoring a goal in the 88th minute.
- Maze recorded two more saves in the second half.
