Box Score MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The Indiana University Northwest Men's Basketball team was unable to hold on and secure the victory on the road against Bethel University Friday.
The Pilots (1-0) defeated the RedHawks (1-2), 93-88, at the Wiekamp Athletic Center, Friday.1

HALF BREAKDOWN
FIRST HALF (IUN 51, Bethel 45)
- Both teams traded early baskets which made it 5-5 in the first couple minutes.
- Jared Johnson capped off a 9-0 run for the RedHawks to put them ahead 14-5 at the 16:34 mark.
- IU Northwest used another surge midway through the first half after buckets by Johnson, James Hudson and Martrellian Gibson made it 34-13 RedHawks with 11:32 to go.
- Bethel looked to make a comeback early and started a 9-2 run the next three minutes to cut the deficit to 13.
- Both teams traded points then Johnson put the RedHawks ahead by 13 again with under a minute left.
- The Pilots had different plans going into the half as Bethel scored the last seven points to go into the break only down six (51-45).
SECOND HALF (Bethel 48, IUN 37)
- Bethel started the second half with the scoring to cut it to four.
- IUN was able to answer as both teams went back and forth for the next three minutes.
- The RedHawks stretched it back out to an eight point lead (59-51) after baskets by Damond Crosby and Louis Williams with 16:15 left in the game.
- Moments later, Williams made it a double digit lead again with 12:44 remaining.
- The Pilots then went on a 16-2 run the next four minutes to grab a 73-70 lead.
- IU Northwest was able to respond and grab the lead again after Crosby hit a bucket and Williams knocked down a pair at the line.
- However, BU took control the rest of the game and won 93-88.
