Bryan Leyden joined Indiana University Northwest as assistant athletic trainer for RedHawk athletics in June 2024, in collaboration with Lakeshore Bone and Joint Institute. He brings a strong background in both clinical rehabilitation and athletic training at the high school and collegiate levels.
Before arriving at IU Northwest, Leyden served as the athletic trainer at Terre Haute North Vigo High School, where he provided care for the boys’ and girls’ wrestling, track and field, and basketball teams. He also gained valuable clinical experience working in outpatient rehabilitation at Ascension St. Vincent Clay Physical Therapy.
Leyden’s experience in intercollegiate athletics includes working with student-athletes at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, and Indiana State University. His broad exposure to a range of sports and competitive levels has equipped him to support the evolving health and performance needs of IU Northwest’s student-athletes.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in applied medicine with a minor in massage therapy from Indiana State University in 2021. He continued at ISU to complete his Master of Science in Athletic Training in 2023.
Leyden plays a vital role in injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation for all RedHawk athletic programs, working closely with coaches, student-athletes, and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care and support.
