Biography
Sharon burst onto the scene as a freshman establishing herself as one of the premiere players in women's college basketball. She finished the 2008-2009 campaign ranked second nationally by the NAIA II in scoring (24.7), first in rebounding (15.6) and 2nd in blocks (5.3) per game. Houston swept all three USCAA categories in route to being named a 2009 All-American. She earned NAIA National Player of the Week honors in back-to-back weeks and took home the USCAA National Player of the Week five times. She posted school records of 38-pts and 25-reb in a win over Kuyper College on 1/9/09 and dropped 31-pts and 18-reb in a win over IU South Bend on 1/17/09. She posted triple doubles on back-to-back games in wins over Moody Bible and Mt. Mary 1/22 and 1/23/2009. Houston was named A.I.I. Conference Player of the Year and RedHawks' Most Valuable Player. Sharon is majoring in criminal justice.
